The Oban 14 year old scotch whiskey starts as a crop of 100% malted barley that is germinated and dried over a peat fired kiln. From there, its mashed and distilled twice in the pear-shaped pots of the Oban Distillery before being sealed in oak casks.

In effect, the town grew up around the distillery, founded by John and Hug Stevenson in 1794. Oban’s attractive West Highland character reflects its location, revealing aspects of both the Highland and the Island styles.

From one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, Oban™ 14 Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is made in tiny lantern-shaped copper pot stills, among the smallest in Scotland. Their rich, fruity malt is then slowly condensed in wooden worm tubs that sit outside among the rooftops, before being aged in oak casks for at least 14 years.
